Tomorrow, I join my fellow church congregationalists play in a charity softball tournament. This should be interesting because:
a) I was a terrible Little Leaguer, especially batting. I was a "defensive specialist"
b) I've never played in a real softball game, complete with umpires
b) I was not a good athlete when I was younger, let alone now
The good thing is that I did OK during batting and fielding practice earlier this week. I can still run, catch, and throw. My hitting wasn't too bad, although I have to remember to shift my weight more during my swing.
I'm looking forward to the opportunity to commiserate. Working from home, I spend a lot of time on the phone and exchanging emails, but it's obviously not quite the same as quality face time.
If I can have some fun and escape uninjured, I will consider it a success.
